Meet Our Staff
CEO | Principal Designer
J.D.'s possesses an extensive design background and in-depth knowledge of the home remodeling industry, having previously co-founded his own residential interior design firm. A practicing minimalist, he loves all things tiny home related. J.D. joined us because of a love of contemporary design and a desire to work with European styled spaces, materials and finishes. His talented, keen eye for detail, and disdain for inefficiency made him the perfect choice to lead the team.
With more than fourteen years in interior design, Michael successfully led his own residential design business for much of that time. His passion for travel and architectural history inform much of his aesthetic. Specializing in modern interiors, Michael values the Urbanata team's shared expertise and vision toward true modern design. He places a high value on seamless communication with clients while creating design solutions to fit their lifestyle.
Jake comes to the Seattle area from small-town Indiana. A big fan of architecture, Jake has always admired what Seattle has to offer. He loves the variety of homes and styles that make Seattle the great city that it is. Jake is a graduate of Indiana University, bringing experience in interior design, graphic design, and furniture making. Jacob’s passion for design, from the technical side to the materials and more, is what makes him a good fit here at Urbanata!
Molded in the rural suburbs of Toledo, Ohio, Brock started young in web and graphic design, eventually taking a liking to programming. He found his way to Seattle in 2009 to pursue a career in game art & design, but shortly after discovered his fascination for industrial design, which he received his degree in from the Art Institute of Seattle. Now in interior design, he uses his multi-disciplinary background and technical know-how to bring a fresh perspective on designing the home of your dreams. When not at Urbanata, Brock can be found making electronic music, design sketching, at the Ferrari dealership trying to convince the salesman to let him take a test drive, taking a hike or being a beer snob at your local brewery.
A New England native and now Seattle resident, Lori handles our technical drawings and some specification work. Now having been in the design industry for over a decade, not only is she proficient with drawings but exceptionally sharp as a designer. Sit down to talk with her and you'll know that she's not just a technical master but also has a keen artistic eye. Lori studied Interior Design in both Indianapolis, IN and Portland, OR with a focus on kitchen and bath remodeling. Lori is skilled in both the artistic and technical aspects of residential and commercial interiors.
Every office needs a people person, and at Urbanata that means Nadia Godfrey. Her endless enthusiasm and creativity are a perfect match to meet our multitasking design showroom needs. With a background ranging from business to sales to construction, she’s a huge part of what makes Urbanata tick. Nadia's knack for organizing complex details and working to coordinate groups of people have made Nadia the perfect choice for this integral role. As an integral point person on projects, in our showroom, and as a great resource for clients, you'll love working with her.
Project Manager II
This Seattle native comes to our team with over 18 years in commercial project management. and estimating, Richard’s skill in organization and communication is simply extraordinary. Clients and teammates alike rely on his ability to orchestrate a large number of complex scheduling and purchasing tasks to ensure that projects get seen through from start to finish without any delays. Richard is great to work with and even though he always returns a call or an email, you’ll likely find he’s already kept you up-to-date.
Project Manager I
With an extensive background in customer service and project management, Jonathan is great at not only helping people in meaningful ways but he really understands how important the deails are to a project. Another Seattleite, when discussing what he loves about his work, he says, "I like to know what is happening. I am committed to the project as well as the person." Outside of work, when not volunteering his time to help others, he enjoys audiobooks, yoga, glassblowing and attending the ballet.
Hailing from Moldova, Dima is an extremely skilled finish carpenter with an unmatched work ethic. While he has a real passion for design and architecture, he truly shines at bringing a project to fruition. He has been working in construction since high school. After moving to Seattle in 2012 and later joining the Urbanata team, he’s garnered an extensive knowledge with both indoor and outdoor remodeling, with a specialty in immaculate kitchen cabinet work. You will appreciate having Dima working on your project!
Smart and hardworking, Nick comes to Urbanata via Omaha, Nebraska. When asked what inspires him about carpentry, he says, "I just love making stuff. If I have the option to buy it or make it, I prefer to make it." When considering his education in fashion, his sentiments about making things clearly holds true. We're glad to have Nick on our team and you'll be glad to have him working on your projects.
Account Relationship Manager
Born in Akron, Ohio, raised in Canton, Michigan, Ryan has called Seattle home for several years now. With an extensive background in customer service and years in business-to-business sales, you'll find Ryan to be responsive, professional and easy to get along with, but his positive, can-do attitude is simply contagious. When not making high-quality jerky and other dehydrated foods, Ryan enjoys hiking, swimming, playing cards and reading.
Project Design Developer
With a background in engineering, architectural interior design, and international travel, Aysin is a design industry professional. Although she’s directed her own successful interior design business, she finds the collaborative and creative team environment we strive for to be a great fit for her fantastic modern style and design prowess. Aysin’s excellent sense of style and taste is only matched by her ability to convey complex ideas in meaningful ways.
Marketing & Customer Service Manager
Having owned, directed operations for and marketed both a successful design|build firm as well as a digital and print publication, Dave now brings his knowledge and experience to Seattle. Another native of Indianapolis, he plays a key role in helping the Urbanata brand connect with clients in the market for our products and services. A minimalist, Pug enthusiast and lover of all things sci-fi he makes an excellent, well-rounded member of our team.
A Pacific Northwest native, meet our logistics mastermind, Joe Goldsmith. Joe, our warehouse manager and music aficionado. His positive attitude and good nature are contagious. He efficiently handles all important day to day coordination of product delivery. Easy to work with and an excellent communicator, rest assured that you’ll be kept up-to-date with all product and material arrivals. Joe enjoys spending time outside and camping in his free time.
TraeAnna is a true Seattleite and an admin extraordinaire. With a background that spans from customer service to production, she's encountered many different work environments and conquered them all. Having a passion for her city, she's inspired by the growth it has experienced. Now, she's ready to be a part of the creative design process at Urbanata; bringing her strong work ethic and humanistic approach to the team.
International Business Development Specialist
A graduate of the prestigious Kwansei Gauin University in Japan, Mieko developed excellent business and marketing skills in a number of industries. Having founded her own successful travel company and with the additional experience she gained while in Vietnam developing bamboo hardwood products, fate brought her here to Seattle. Her expertise in international business and brand development has proven invaluable here at Urbanata.
