Proper Space Planning:
Being able to function correctly in your kitchen is probably the most important feature a modern kitchen can provide. Be sure that you have thought long and hard about how you will be using the space, who will be using the area, which you’ll be sharing it with and the maintenance it will need. Using a well-planned layout that reflects your lifestyle will make all your kitchen activities as worry-free as possible.

Layered Lighting:
Something not everyone considers carefully is the imperative that to function appropriately in your now well thought out space, you’ll always need to be able to see, day or night. There are many ways to achieve this in your area, but a good rule to go by is the following:
You will need several layers to create warmth, reduce shadows and glare and have adequate luminescence for tasks such as cooking, food prep and of course, EATING!

Finishes:
The next thing to consider is the type of finishes that will work best for your space. There are many to chose from, but you will need to decide on cabinet finish, flooring, countertops, etc. That will be comfortable, durable and usually low-maintenance which is especially important if you have children or pets (or a life outside of the kitchen.)

Quality Appliance:
Choosing quality appliance for your kitchen space is a no-brainer! Not only will they look great and elevate your design, but they will last a long time, be dependable and easy to use. They’ll be much easier to maintain.

Quality Cabinets:
The same goes for cabinets. If you invest in a quality product from the beginning, it will save you a lot of heartache and headache in the future.

Color:
Ok, So now it is time to start the fun part! Pick a color palette that will make you happy, calm and relaxed. Now this will be different for everyone. But you want to make sure that it is one that you will want to live with for a long time.

Style:
Again – personal choice here (that is why it is so fun) but be sure that you keep a constant manner in the space that you flow with the rest of your home.

Contrast:
Another thing that not everyone will think about or even realize is that in a kitchen or bath space contrast is welcome whether you have a dark cabinet and light floors or dark floors and light countertops. The difference will give your space more interest.
Warmth/Nature:
Of course, the best way to elevate your level of comfort in any space is to add warm elements ideally from nature, plants, flowers, candles, water features, etc.

Bling:
And lastly, add some bling! A beautifully crafted backsplash. With so many choices of tile, it will give your space tons of sparkle.
